The Green Mountain Care Board, created by the Vermont Legislature in 2011, is working to ensure that our health care system provides quality, affordable health care to all Vermonters while reducing waste and controlling costs. To achieve these goals, the Board’s priorities are focused on:
- Overseeing a health care payment and delivery system designed to improve the quality of care while reducing costs
- Monitoring and exerting downward pressure on overall health care spending
- Developing programs and creating partnerships to assess and enhance quality and safety in the health care system
- Enhancing system transparency and consumer involvement
The Board works closely with other state agencies, the Legislature, the Vermont business community, health care professionals and providers, and the citizens of Vermont to carry out its unique mission.
