The Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Reports are a series of analyses mandated by Vermont statute 18 V.S.A. § 9375(b)(14) to evaluate the costs and utilization of outpatient procedures in Vermont. Using data from the Vermont Health Care Uniform Reporting and Evaluation System (VHCURES), these reports provide a comparative look at high-volume procedures performed at ASCs and Hospital Outpatient Departments (HOPDs). The ASC Reports are designed to inform policymakers, healthcare providers, and the public about the role of ASCs in Vermont’s healthcare system, including their contributions to access, affordability, and quality of care.
